About Mrs. Maggie Howard...
I was raised in Clinton, Iowa. As the fourth of five children and the oldest girl, I attended Our Lady of Angels Girls’ Academy, where music was of primary importance. I began private keyboard instruction in the second grade and continued through college, graduating from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa with a Degree in Music Education. Since that time, I have been actively involved in the music programs in Catholic churches and schools. Our family moved from Iowa to Longmont in 1987 and I have served in the Archdiocese of Denver at St. John’s since then!
I currently teach the fifth through eighth grades and previously taught all grades kindergarten through eighth. I also taught music at Holy Family High School in 1999-2000. In addition to teaching, I am the director of Liturgy and Music for our Parish.
I am a member of the Archdiocesan Music Committee,National Pastoral Musicians, and Choristers’ Guild.
I feel blessed to be able to share my faith and strengthen the faith of our students through music. My 3 children attended St John’s and our 5 grandchildren were baptized there by their grandfather, Deacon Bob Howard.
My “work” really is my passion and hobby, but when I am not “doing” music, I like to spend time at home in my yard with our trains, flowers, chickens, dogs and cats!
